The ceremonial gathering in the Great Hall of the Karolinum will be an opportunity for a meeting of members of the academic community with representatives of international universities, social and cultural life and guests from among the general public.

The gathering should emphasise the tight interconnection of the university environment with the history of the Czechoslovak state and commemorate the main moments that engraved representatives of Czechoslovak universities into the collective construction of Czechoslovak society. The gathering will be streamed on the university YouTube and Facebook channels to introduce the event to the general public. The objective of the ceremonial gathering is a dignified reminder of the one hundredth anniversary of the independence of Czechoslovakia. The event will be part of the launch of the celebrations organised by Charles University and will provide room for appearances of representatives of the academic community and social life.
